Julien graduated from the University of Bern in Switzerland, in 2002. He did a rotating internship, followed by his medicine residency (from 2005 to 2008), which was a joint program between the University of Bern and of Louisiana State University. Julien worked as a lecturer at the University of Liverpool and then as a Consultant in Small Animal Medicine for IDEXX. Julien moved to the University of Melbourne to undertake a PhD on gastro-intestinal disease and monitoring of animals on treatment with immune suppressive drugs, which he completed in 2019. Julien is a Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Medicine at the Univeristy of Edinburgh. Julien’s main interests in medicine include gastrointestinal disease and immune-mediated diseases.
