This presentation will review current themes in antimicrobial resistance in human medicine and explore the potential areas of impact on veterinary internal medicine, recognizing the intrinsic connection between human and animal health (OneHealth). This session will then pivot to discuss approaches to development of antimicrobial stewardship programs in adult human inpatient and outpatient realms, with a particular emphasis on potential pitfalls that may emerge in the implementation process and ways to successfully avoid these.
