I will be discussing the geographic distribution, clinical presentations, and diagnostics of Valley fever. The patient population at risk. Also will briefly discuss the available theraputics for Valley fever and novel antifungals being developed. I will briefly discuss the similarities to Canine disease.
Learning Objectives:
Understanding the epidemiology and expanding coccidioidomycosis burden, including its risk to international travelers.
Recognizing Valley fever’s clinical presentation and challenges involved with the diagnosis and treatment.
Management of patients with severe disease and to keep Valley fever in differential diagnosis list.
