A new research study on specialty care among veterinary specialists, primary care physicians, and clients reveals significant gaps in knowledge, communication, and understanding of the cost of care when clients are referred to or seeking specialty care including ER and board-certified specialists. This presentation reveals the key findings, the major disconnects in the specialty care experience and provides actionable insights for GPs and specialists to put into practice from proactive communication, more effective client education, and enhanced referral relationships to help create a seamless Triad of Care with the patient at the center. The session will be interactive with audience participation focused on communication.
