Elisa Scarsella, PhD, earned her MSc in Biotechnology for Food Science from the University of Padua in 2016. For her thesis, she studied the impact of cysteine precursors on broiler performance under heat stress, supervised by Dr. Joris Michiels at the University of Ghent.
After working as a Research Assistant on bacterial genome editing at the University of Udine, she pursued a PhD in Biotechnology and Agricultural Sciences. Her doctoral research explored factors affecting the gut microbial modulation in dogs.
Elisa joined AnimalBiome in 2022. There, she continues her studies on the intestinal microbiome of companion animals. This journey expanded her scientific skills, including becoming an expert in the NGS PacBio technology.
