Bruna Correa Lopes is a veterinary microbiologist specializing in host-microbiota interactions and infectious diseases. Her research focuses on microbial communities in animal health, particularly Peptacetobacter hiranonis and bile acid metabolism in companion animals. She has published studies on intestinal and oral microbiota, zoonotic pathogens, and infectious diseases across species, including dogs, cats, horses, pigs, and wild animals. Her work includes research on dysbiosis, ocular microbiota alterations, the canine oral microbiome, and pathogens such as Salmonella, Streptococcus suis, and Mycobacterium spp., with an emphasis on antimicrobial resistance and molecular diagnostics.
