Dr. Harris is an Associate Professor of Nephrology and Urology at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She received her DVM from Mississippi State University in 2012. She completed her rotating internship at Kansas State University in 2013 and an internal medicine residency at the University of Florida in 2016, with ACVIM board certification in small animal internal medicine in 2016. She completed a postdoctoral nephrology fellowship in 2019 and is currently an ACVNU resident. Her clinical research focuses on novel biomarkers and therapeutics for managing chronic kidney disease, with a particular focus on acid-base homeostasis, the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, and the role of the kidneys in cardiac disease.
