Lara Jimenez graduated from Complutense University of Madrid (Spain) in 2021. Before qualification, she undertook multiple externships in equine practice in Spain, Belgium and Ireland. She worked in first opinion practice in Spain prior moving to Ireland, where she completed an equine internship and a medicine fellowship at Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital. After her second breeding season, she returned to Spain to join an ambulatory practice before starting her second internship in the University of Edinburgh.
Interested in remain research active, she completed a cardiology project that presented in the AVEE Congress, presented several case reports in European conferences (AVEE, IEVA) and she is currently working in a project investigating the role of stress hormones in metabolic diseases.
Se possesses a strong interest in the academic environment. She therefore completed the AFHEA qualification. Her main interests are critical care, neonatology, cardiology and endocrinology.
