PhD Student
Royal Veterinary College, United Kingdom
Arielle is a veterinarian and second-year PhD student at the Royal Veterinary College, studying the genetic and pathophysiological mechanisms that may contribute to pancreatitis-associated diabetes mellitus in dogs. Her research utilises bioinformatics and data analysis to explore the factors potentially involved in these diseases.
In addition to her veterinary degree, Arielle holds a Bachelor of Science in Comparative Pathology, graduating with first-class honours and ranking third in her year. Before beginning her PhD, she worked in small animal practice, which provided her with a strong clinical foundation that informs her research. Arielle is particularly interested in integrating omics approaches, including genomics and metabolomics, alongside veterinary medicine and pathology, to advance the understanding of complex diseases. Her PhD is supervised by Professor Lucy J. Davison and Professor Brian Catchpole.
