Amy Nichelason is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in the Primary Care department. She got her DVM from the University of California-Davis and then did a rotating internship in Red Bank, New Jersey. After this, she spent several years in private practice before becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Canine and Feline) prior to joining academia. Her clinical and teaching interests center around educational strategies that enhance preclinical and clinical veterinary education to create well-adapted and competent day-one ready general practitioners. Her research goals are to help create tools that enhance clinical decision making, and to enhance a client- and patient-centered, evidence-based, approach to veterinary care.
