Dr. Keerthi Bandaru is originally from India, she completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and Master’s degrees at Sri Venkateswara Veterinary university in India and then worked on canine distemper virus in her Master's, focused on molecular characterization and phylogenetic analysis. After her Master’s degree, Keerthi worked as a Veterinary doctor. She joined the TAMU Gastrointestinal Laboratory to pursue her PhD under the mentorship of Dr. Emily Gould, and her research is focused on the pH independent effects of acid suppressant medications. Her research explores the immunomodulatory effects of these drugs in dogs, both ex-vivo and in-vivo. She is passionate about the Veterinary Science, Immunology, and she finds joy in the art of photography.
