Alex is an equine medicine specialist based at the University of Nottingham in the UK. Originally from New Zealand, she completed her veterinary degree at Massey University in 2016, then went on to complete an internship at the University of Minnesota and residency at Colorado State University (2021). She is currently finishing her PhD in clinical genomics with University College Dublin, with work focused on the influence of the early life environment on a Thoroughbred horse’s stress response, disease risk and skeletal muscle transcriptional regulation following exercise training. Alex's main areas of interest lie in the stress response and use of biomarkers in equine patients.
