Barbara is an Assistant Professor in the section of Large Animal Emergency and Critical care at the Cornell. She obtained her DVM at University of Parma, Italy, in 2012 and started her veterinary career as an equine intern in private practice in Ireland. Here she continued to work for a few years splitting her time between hospital-based duties focusing on sick neonates, and critically ill adults and ambulatory work in the nearby racetrack and breeding farms. She completed a Large Animal Medicine residency, followed by a Large Animal Emergency and Critical Care Fellowship at Cornell. She has a particular research and clinical interest in horses' critical care, neonatology and gastro-intestinal diseases.
