Her veterinary degree and residency were completed at the University of Pennsylvania. She went on to do a PhD through a collaborative position between North Carolina State University and GlaxoSmithKline, where she analyzed urinary biomarker profiles and gene expression microarrays in a rodent model of proteinuria. This was followed by fellowship training at the University of North Carolina, evaluating human renal biopsies. Since her relocation to the Ohio State University, she has been a co-director of the International Veterinary Renal Pathology Service. Current research interests include diagnosis and characterization of renal disease in small animals and investigation of molecular mechanisms that mediate progression of kidney disease.
