Dr. Kalbfleisch Is a Professor at the University of Kentucky Gluck Equine Research center. He received his PhD in Physical Chemistry in 1994 from Boston University. He is a bioinformatician and led the development effort for the EquCab3 reference genome for the horse, as well as the current horse reference genome, the recently released Thoroughbred T2T assembly. His work is focused on building infrastructure to support genetic and genomic research on horses and other important animal species.
