Kim has received an AS in Science and BS in Veterinary Technology from Mount Ida College in Newton Center, Massachusetts. She earned her Veterinary Technician Specialty in Cardiology in June 2011.
She has worked in small animal private practice, exotic medicine, wildlife and academia in the fields of small animal medicine and in large and small animal radiology. She worked at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in small animal medicine and radiology for 10 years before starting to work at Purdue University in 2005 as a cardiology technologist. She is a Cardiology Co-director at large with the Academy of Internal Medicine for Veterinary Technicians.
