Jose Novo Matos is a Teaching Professor and Head of Small Animal Cardiology at the University of Cambridge, with a specialist focus on feline cardiomyopathies. He graduated from the University of Lisbon, completed his cardiology residency at the University of Zurich, became an ECVIM-CA Diplomate in 2014, and later earned a PhD on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy from the Royal Veterinary College, as well as a Master’s in Cardiovascular Pathology from the University of Padua. In addition to his clinical and research work, he co-hosts The Animal Heartbeat, the first podcast dedicated to veterinary cardiology.
