Presentation Description / Summary: We will focus on covering the diagnosis and management of supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias during exercise, and the diagnosis and management of heart failure in a variety of large animal species. This session will be highly interactive, with questions taken from the audience during the presentation and the opportunity for the audience to vote on what they would do from a diagnostic and treatment perspective, which will enrich the discussion.

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion, participant will become familiar with how to recognize the common presentations for cardiovascular problems occurring in large animal species
  • Upon completion, participants will develop an understanding of the standardized approach to the diagnostics performed when working up large animal cardiology cases
  • Upon completion, participants will practice how to interpret the findings of diagnostic tests performed (echocardiography, ECG, non-invasive blood pressure, blood work) with additional discussion on appropriate management strategies.
