Presentation Description / Summary: During this facilitated session, panel members will share their lived experiences of microaggressions in their workplaces and how they have navigated them. We will also discuss a variety of evidence-based intervention practices to manage microaggressions, both as a person experiencing them and as upstander.

Learner Outcomes: Attendees will be able to define the term 'microaggression'. Attendees will learn how microaggressions are experienced by a diverse panel of ACVIM Diplomates. Attendees will learn a variety of evidence-based intervention practices used against microaggressions experienced directly or from the role of an upstander.

Learning Objectives:

upon completion, participants will be able to define the term microaggression.
Upon completion, participants will be able to step in as an ally when they observe, microaggressionsoccurring.
upon completion, participants will be able to reflect on their own biases and recognize when they may be performing a microaggression against someone.
