Presentation Description / Summary: This session will cover updates of recent research on cow- and management factors that influence colostrum quality and quantity, explain harvest and post-harvest considerations such as heat treatment and freezing. In addition, the session will cover the newest data on non-IgG colostrum components and their potential role in calf health and development, as well as strategic use of colostrum and evidence-based practices for maximizing benefits from colostrum feeding.
