In this session the audience will review recent developments in the clinical pharmacology of small ruminants. This lecture will present an update in small ruminant pharmacology of recent developments in the literature. Pain management tools such as gabapentin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories will be discussed with respect to the individual patient. Recent developments in the management of internal and external parasites will also be presented. Additional clinical pharmacology updates relevant to the management of the hospitalized small ruminant by the large animal internist will be covered. Finally the role of the small ruminant as a food animal in North America will be reviewed.
