Presentation Description / Summary: This session will explore how imposter syndrome and self-doubt affects veterinary residents and how effective feedback and team-based learning (TBL) strategies can be harnessed to combat these challenges. It will highlight the role of mentorship and TBL in promoting well-being, resilience, and professional growth within a supportive training environment. We will aim to better understand imposter syndrome and its impact on veterinary residents, including how it can hinder learning, performance, and overall well-being. Team based learning within resident teaching and on the clinic floor can be an effective tool in helping residents overcome self-doubt by fostering collaboration, peer support, and active engagement in learning. We will emphasize how TBL helps residents recognize their strengths, builds confidence, and develops a sense of belonging, while also providing strategies for mentors to help facilitate this type of learning environment. We will also discuss strategies for integrating wellness and communication practices into TBL, such as reflective exercises, wellness check-ins, and mindfulness techniques, to enhance residents' mental and emotional health. The session will include practical tips and ideas for structuring residency programs based on previous experiences and promoting self-regulation. We hope to have an open discussion about successful methods that promote learning and well-being. Learner Outcomes: 1) Equip educators and mentors with tools to recognize and address imposter syndrome in their residents. 2) Demonstrate how TBL can create a supportive learning environment that enhances both professional growth and well-being. 3) Provide actionable strategies for integrating wellness practices into resident training programs.
