Presentation Description / Summary: Communication is a key part of nutritional conversations, and it continues to be the wedge between our patients and making a good dietary recommendation. This session will look at current communication-focused research in the veterinary industry to identify barriers and potential areas for change management. Utilizing four key steps: be kind, be curious, be empathetic, and be ready to provide a recommendation will be discussed to aid in moving through all types of nutrition-focused conversations. Attendees will be engaged to participate in scenarios to practice this communication format.
