Presentation Description / Summary: Euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis (EDKA)is an unfamiliar disorder within veterinary medicine, but is now a concern following the introduction of SGLT2 inhibitors as stand-alone therapy for cats with diabetes mellitus. Many specialists are anxious about how to prevent, diagnose and manage this condition. In this panel discussion, a group of internists with interest in SGLT2 inhibitors will answer questions regarding the identification of patients at risk of EDKA, current understanding regarding the pathophysiology of EDKA, and appropriate treatment strategies. Audience members will be encouraged to participate and share their own concerns and experiences with this condition.

Learner Outcomes: 1. Understand the physiology behind euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis 2. Identify patients at risk of euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis 3. Create appropriate treatment protocols for cats with euglycemic ketoacidosis
