Presentation Description / Summary: The goal for this session is to provide to support the use of phosphorylated neurofilament light (NFL) as an ancillary diagnostic test for the equine neurologic disorders, cervical compressive myelopathy and equine neuroaxonal dystrophy / degenerative myeloencephalopathy (eNAD/EDM). Two different platforms for quantification will be discussed.
Learning Objectives:
Evaluate how neurofilament light can serve an ancillary diagnostic test for equine neurologic disorders.
Understand the different ways to quantify neurofilament light in a research setting and commercially.
Compare results from neurofilament light with results from phosphorylated neurofilament heavy biomarker testing
